Creating images that are shared and liked (consistently) on Facebook is certainly an art, and science. But there are a few commonalities that we can pull from highly shared images/posts. Depending on your market, you will see what draws applause, laughter, action, or anger from your posts. It is key to hit the right “tenor” with your posts and images.
Here are four tips to get your images shared:
1. Stay away from stock im
ages. People aren’t intrigued or inspired by stock images. If that is your only choice, make it your own by adding text to the image.
2. Use the images as a trigger for the action you want. If you have an e-commerce store, show before and after shots of people using your products (if available). Or you could show images of boxes shipping out to get the buyer to wish they were getting one of the boxes. Try to get your prospective customer in the mindset of being a buyer.
3. Use a photo design tool to spruce up your images. My favorite new on is Canva. I created this great image (left) in minutes with Canva. You can create Facebook post images, blog post images, cover pages and much more. They offer a free account to “get your feet wet.”
4. Create images that people can quickly click “like” as a head nod. What does that mean? Well, it is easy for them to get in your momentum or message–they are inspired by your image or words and want to shout, “Amen!” Well, that’s what the like and share buttons are for!
Facebook will constantly be changing, but the need for powerful, bold images will always be constant on the forum. The more you can offer original, authentic content, the easy it will be to connect with your fans. And gain more of them;)
