The HOTTEST topic around Cardinal Point in Q4 is…Planning! With some good planning, you can use the best pockets of time to grow your business before the end of the year.
See-the last two months of the year are RICH with opportunity. It is also rich with blocks of times that are NOISY. In noisy times, it is hard for you to get your prospect’s attention because you are competing with many, many other businesses.
As you are planning offers, launches, let’s have a look at the calendar to see the opportunities.
With November, you have next week, 16th-20th, which will still be relatively calm online (assuming everything stays quiet with the election). If you haven’t touched base with your prospects and clients, then this would be a good time to make a connection.
Then the next week is Thanksgiving, so things will get very, very LOUD from Thanksgiving through Cyber Monday, at least (November 25-30th). Many brands might start even earlier than Thanksgiving, but this move is not necessarily the right one for all small businesses.
For my ecommerce clients, this will be a huge week, and if you are pitching something, you should have all of the email marketing, social media posts and ads lined up and ready.
Historically, this has been a pricey time to advertise on Facebook/Instagram, so keep a close eye on your ad spend!
Moving on to December…
Business owners have two excellent opportunities to market in December. The first shows up around December 7th. Online, things are more quiet, and people are still working and engaged. For our e-commerce clients, we are still selling strong from December 7-15th.
Even if you are not an ecommerce business owner, you can certainly have a look at your promotions and offers to see if this time frame would work for you.
Then, you have the golden next opportunity, which is after Christmas and into the New Year.
If your business helps someone have a transformation, this is a great time to sell. People have time off, and they are reflecting on their goals and new challenges. If you can help them to make this transition, use this time wisely!
If you don’t want to find yourself working during the holidays (I don’t!!) now is the time to prepare your marketing pieces. With a client last week, we nailed out the exact campaign plan and listed out everything we need. By the end of next week, we will have every marketing asset for the holidays in place. Every single message will be scheduled with great visuals and the ads (will be approved) and scheduled!
Finally, you also want to start thinking ahead to your messaging during the holidays. Do you have your social media posts for the holidays ready? Do you want Thanksgiving or Happy Holidays emails. If so, let’s get those drafted!
Getting ahead over the next couple of months will make the difference between stress and success. Are you planning any new campaigns before the New Year? If so, let me know what you have in store.
XOXO,
Amy
